Task Days – 1pm to 4pm : see Programme for meeting points

Tuesdays – We work at a variety of sites in and around Great Yarmouth.  We will be continuing our project at The Boating Lake in Great Yarmouth where we will be maintaining the gardens to keep them tidy in advance of a complete renovation of the site next year.  At Great Yarmouth Cemeteries we will be clearing the vegetation that is covering the gravestones and tombs so that the inscriptions can be seen and recorded by The Friends of Great Yarmouth Cemeteries.  We will be working again with Natural England at Winterton Dunes making habitat improvements and we will also be returning to Blofield Church to rake up the grass that will be cut in the autumn to improve the wildflowers at this beautiful old churchyard.  We will be helping out at Bradwell Community wood thinning some of the overcrowded trees and coppicing hazel and making habitat improvements.

Thursdays – Our regular weekly site every Thursday is Beacon Park woodlands in Gorleston where we are working on a huge ongoing project to turn a neglected belt of trees into an asset for the local community to enjoy.  We will be thinning and coppicing trees and cutting back scrub to encourage understorey plants, shrubs and wildflowers and building “minibeast hotels” to improve diversity. We are also improving the pathway we have already created by making clearings with benches around the entire area so that people can sit and enjoy their surroundings.
