Sites summary

Task Days – Tuesdays – 1pm to 4pm : see Programme for meeting points

We work at a variety of sites in and around Great Yarmouth.  The sites vary a great deal from working with The Broads Authority at several different sites including Wroxham Broad island, Burgh Common, Buttle Marsh, Ludham, Stanley Carrs, Aldeby; and with Norfolk Archaeological Trust at Burgh Castle; with Blofield and District Conservation Group (BADCOG) at Blofield Church and Howes Meadow; Bradwell Community wood; GYB Services at the Catholic Cemetery and Bure Park, both on Caister Road and Norfolk Square on Marine Parade as well as Southtown Common and at the Waterways and Boating Lake at the an exciting new restoration project; and Friends of Great Yarmouth Cemeteries at The Minster cemeteries.  We also occasionally work at Beacon Park woodlands in Gorleston where we will be thinning and coppicing trees and cutting back scrub to encourage understorey plants, shrubs and wildflowers and building “minibeast hotels” and dead hedges to improve diversity.  We are also improving the pathway we have already created by making clearings with benches around the entire area so that people can sit and enjoy their surroundings.
